You’re looking at the beginning of my painting. All along i’ve been into geometric shapes and patterns, painted in vibrant color transitions and clashes. This is vintage Sanch for sure! These watercolor paintings date back to my time in the Northwestern province of Zambia as a Peace Corps volunteer, 2000ish. Most of the paintings were inspired by the landscape. My goodness the landscape! So much beautiful blue sky, ochre and red clay earth, and green fields. They were all so expansive. This is also me learning how to use watercolors. These 19 beauties are a little dirty, so know that and embrace it. Some pieces have holes from being nailed directly to my mud brick walls. You’ll find lots other marks, smudges, torn edges and traces of clay on these queens.
